01 dec Agile Advent Calendar 2020 – 5 December
An Advent Calendar is a special calendar that counts the days to reminded us that Christmas is approaching. Originating from Germany in the late 19th century the advents calendars offer a sweet, little piece of chocolate or another treat each day when one of the 24 shutters are opened.
With the end of the year approaching fast, I would like to countdown the days until Christmas with you together. I assembled 24 Practices for that might benefit you as Agile coach, Scrum master or Agile practitioner. Join me in this online countdown. To heighten your sense of expectation we share one Tip every day.
Tip 5: Let the team decide what and how they want to improve.
Make sure the team understand agile and give them the lead in the continuous improvements. Avoid that the team feels they need to improve for someone else. I think Agile Coaches sometimes feel they need to prove their worthy by making progress and proving that the teams grow in maturity. e.g. by having a higher score on the Agile Maturity Model. As a result they make improvements a coach thing. This way they put a pressure on the team and ignore their real needs.
